Originals Collection

Originally from Dublin, I am a Cork based artist and have been painting for nearly 20 years. Through my semi-abstract landscape paintings I experiment with colour, tone, textures, mixed media and glazes to create atmospheric, engaging pieces. My aim is to create work that resonates through colour vibrance and allows the viewer to create a sense of place.

 

I regularly sketch in the landscape allowing me to stay connected with nature and absorb the shapes, sounds and sense of my preferred subject. My main method of painting is to start a piece with no preset plan. This allows me to intuitively let a painting unfold and develop into a piece that connects organically and emotionally with the viewer. It also provides a great challenge in keeping a painting alive and interesting throughout the process.

I’ve held several solo exhibitions and taken part in numerous group exhibitions nationwide. I’m a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland and my work is part of the CIT School of Music permanent collection.

 

Like many artists, I've had wonderful support from the Irish craft community who continue to help promote and sell my work. In particular, you will find my work in some of Ireland’s most notable craft shops and galleries such as Forest & Flock in Bantry, Castlemartyr House Gallery & Gifts, Ardmore Pottery & Gallery in Co Waterford, The Russell Gallery in Co Clare, Ross Fine Art in Donegal, to name a few.
